Course Introduction
This foundational course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of emergency medicine, focusing on the core principles and fundamental skills necessary for the immediate response to medical emergencies. The course is designed to empower participants with the knowledge and expertise required to handle emergency situations effectively.
Module 1: Overview of Emergency Medicine:
Introduction to the historical evolution and significance of emergency medicine.
Understanding the role of emergency medical professionals in healthcare systems.
Module 2: Basic Life Support (BLS) Techniques:
Hands-on training in basic life support procedures, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
Recognition and response to common life-threatening emergencies.
Module 3: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems:
Exploration of the structure and functioning of Emergency Medical Services.
Understanding the coordination between different components of EMS for efficient emergency response.
Module 4: Recognizing and Prioritizing Emergencies:
Training in the rapid assessment of emergencies to prioritize interventions.
Identification of critical signs and symptoms requiring immediate attention.
Module 5: Emergency Medications and Equipment:
Introduction to essential emergency medications and their applications.
Familiarization with emergency medical equipment and its proper utilization.
Instructor-led sessions use a blended learning approach combining presentations, guided practical exercises, web-based tutorials, and group work, delivered by seasoned industry experts. All facilitation and course materials are in English, so participants should be reasonably proficient in the language.
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued an Apollina Healthcare certificate certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
The training will be held at Apollina Healthcare Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, and lunch. All participants will additionally cater to their travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
